CREEPY... yet coool?

So I heard about this photographer today who takes pictures of people through their windows... thing is, they don't know she is doing it!! So crazy, awesome pics though! Here is an article:

The couple having sex on the kitchen table had no idea someone was lurking outside the window -- pointing her camera straight at them. Neither did two other lovers, crying together as more pictures were furtively snapped through a telephoto lens.

Stealth photographer Yasmine Chatila has captured the intimate activities of hundreds of New Yorkers who got too close to their windows for her series "Stolen Moments," now on sale at an Upper East Side gallery.

Chatila particularly remembers one woman who unwittingly became a subject.

She showered every day in front of a large window, apparently knowing -- but not caring -- that office workers in the building across the street were watching.

"That girl must be a little kinky, a little narcissistic, to want an audience like that," said Chatila. "Too bad there are not more people like her.

"If your window is open and you're having sex in front of it, you must know people may be watching. That's part of the fun for you, maybe. Of course, you don't expect the person watching will have a camera."

Some of her subjects were nude -- but not all of her pictures are X-rated. One shows a pair of fully clothed guys smoking pot.

She's never been sued -- probably because she takes great pains to disguise her subjects.

She spends days Photoshopping each image, adding layers of shadow and blur, so that it's impossible to recognize a face. She changes the frame around the window, so no one can tell where the photo was taken.

All that's left in the final print, she said, is the "essential emotion of the moment."

"I'm doing this to find a connection with these anonymous people," she added, "to show that we all have a common humanity and our differences are only superficial."

Chatila starts by finding a friend's apartment or rooftop that faces a large residential building. She sets up her camera on a tripod with a telephoto lens. Then she waits, sometimes hours, sometimes night after night for a week, to get that one perfect shot.

It's not completely clear whether what she does is legal.

But Jeffrey Neuburger, an attorney who specializes in privacy law, said, "The general rule is that anything that happens in a public space is fair game.

"These are private spaces, but since people are making no effort to close their blinds, it's probably also fair game."

Chatila's portfolio is online at yasminechatila.com, and her series can be purchased through the Edelman Arts gallery.

that is creepy. seriously, would you like someone to take picture of you when you are doing something embarrassing?! and i don't think he or she has the right to do that because of the privacy stuff or right of the picture (in france we have this stuff that you can't spread a picture of someone without his or her agreement!)

well so do we! but she is sure to conceal there identity so i think it should be fine... because it is art. Freedom of Expression ya no.

and if you are leaving your windows open, its kind of like an open invite, right?? Almost a little voyeuristic.
